Today the thermometer in my car read, 107F. I was going south on the 101 just coming out of the valley. ...Valley heat is hell on earth.

My air conditioner started blowing hot air. It was scary, I thought my tires were going to melt off. There were cars stopped on the side of the freeway, which I'd assume were overheated.

I attempted to go to target for some toothpaste, but once I got out of the car the heat was so thick, it almost had texture. I actually walked back to my car without even making it inside of the store. I drove back home to regroup. I was just too fucking hot to do anything. Excuse my langauge, but it was fucking hot as fuck.

Fuck.

I did manage to get out again, around 5pm once the earth's crust cooled and was once again inhabitable. I went to the gym, and to the beauty supply store, and back home; and on my way home I heard a rant by tv writer, Rob Long called "Martini Shot" on KCRW. I forget what it was about now, but it was so well said; he uses a "matter of fact" tone in such smart and almost bitingly sour fashion, and it made me want to come home and write.

....And here I am pausing on every third sentence trying to remember what the hell I'm even writing about.

Jeez I feel the heat too.
It's about 90 degrees right now and it's 2AM
It's CRAZY.
And there is like a fire so the air is like completely gross.
And there is a haze going on.
Today it was 114 degrees.
And the valley locks in the heat
But at least the sun looks pretty cool.. it's like orangeish because of the huge cloud of smoke covering it.
